Advice on framing – have space between glass and item

With any framed items it is important to ensure there is a space between the glass and the item. This is especially important for photographs, because if the photograph is in direct contact with the glass then it can adhere to it. If a photograph does adhere to the glass then it is extremely difficult to remove without causing some damage to the photograph. This is why it is very important to have a window mount so that there is a gap between the glass and the framed item.
